Summation

The active CycD:CDKA complex phosphorylates the downstream Rb protein in Rb:E2F:DP complex, resulting in activation of E2F:DP complex. Activated E2F:DP complex promotes the transcription of genes required in S-phase. Assembly and activation of pre-replication complex takes place in G1/S transition phase.
