OsAP37 ( (ASPARTIC PROTEASE 37), is shown to be involved in the promotion of programmed tapetal cell death during male reproductive development in rice (Niu et al., 2013). Also, its expression is upregulated in SERF1 overexpression lines (Schmidt et al., 2013), suggesting its role in salinity response.
