OsOFP14 or OsOFP21 (ovate family protein14 or 21) transcription repressor shows low expression in the leaves, roots, shoots, pre- and post-flowering panicles (Sakai et al., 2011; PMID: 22042334). However, Its transcription is upregulated by OsNAC3 in response to salinity (Zhang et al., 2021; PMID: 34800972). OsOFP14 is known to interact with GS9 (Grain Shape Gene on Chromosome 9) ad their interaction is modulated by OsGSK2 kinase, a key regulator of the brassinosteroids signaling pathway (Zhao et al., 2018; PMID: 29588443). GS9 is a transcriptional activator that regulates rice grain shape and appearance quality by altering cell division (Zhao et al., 2018; PMID: 29588443).
