OsMPH1/ OsMYB45 is involved in the regulation of plant height by elongating internode cell length, in the positive regulation of grain yield and in the regulation of genes related to cell elongation and cell wall synthesis, which are associated with plant height and yield phenotypes (PubMed:28708834); and tolerance to cadmium stress (PubMed:28969789). Highly expressed in the pulvinus and stem nodes and some expression in the plumule of germinating seeds, coleoptile, leaves, internodes, leave sheaths, spikes and roots (PubMed:28708834). This transcription factor is upregulated in response to submergence during seed germination and coleoptile growth.
