OsGNA1 is involved in UDP-N-acetylglucosamine biosynthesis and primary root development in rice. Loss of function mutant (gna1) of this gene displayed shortening of roots, disruption of microtubules, and shrinkage of cells in the root elongation zone (Jiang et al., 2005).
