| text | OsNAC10, encoded by Os11g0126900, is expressed predominantly in roots and panicles of rice plants. Overexpression of OsNAC10 in rice under the control of the constitutive promoter GOS2 and the root-specific promoter RCc3, is found to increase the plant tolerance to drought, high salinity, and low temperature at the vegetative stage (Jeong, Jin Seo et al., 2010). Expression profiling of the GOS2:OsNAC10 and RCc3:OsNAC10 plants in comparison with NT controls under normal growth conditions resulted into the identification of 38 up-regulated target genes. It included root-expressed genes that are common to both plants and genes common to both leaves and roots of the GOS2:OsNAC10 plants (Jeong, Jin Seo et al., 2010). |
