OsPT4 , a phosphate transporter play significant role during embryogenesis in rice . Gradual and significant increase in OsPT4 transcript level is observed in the embryo from 10 to 20 DAP and attenuation in expression at 26 DAP. By contrast, expression of OsPT4 remains low and unaffected in the endosperm during various stages of embryogenesis. Significant increases (16?28%) in total P concentrations is observed in both embryos and endosperms of overexpression lines whereas decrease in embryo sizes in RNAi lines (Zhang et al., 2015).
