alanine biosynthesis II Pyruvate and L-glutamate are converted to L-alanine and Alpha-ketoglutarate by the enzymatic activity of Alanine transaminase. The reaction also procedes in the opposite direction giving pyruvate and L-glutamate as products. . In Arabidopsis thaliana the enzymes that catalyze this reaction are empirically reported to have four aminotranferase activities. |
