Summation

Low levels of OsAUX1 results in a decrease of auxin transported to the auxiliary buds. The low auxin in auxiliary buds reduces expression of a tillering inhibitor (OsTB1). The downregulation of OsTB1 promotes the tillering of rice (Xia et al., 2012).
