RSL class II members play a positive role in rice root hair formation and elongation. RSL Class II members can bind the RHE sequences in promoters of their downstream targets and upregulate their expression. RSL class II family genes and RHL1 regulate reactive oxygene species (ROS) levels in root hairs by upregulating class III peroxidases (Moon et al., 2019).
