OsMPK6 is previously referred as OsMPK2 by Kurusu et al., 2005; OsMAPK6 by Lieberherr et al., 2005; OsSIPKby Lee et al., 2008; and OsMPK1 by Singh et al., 2012. In T-DNA insertion mutant (embryp lethal mutant) of OsMAPK6, development of embryonic organs is arrested at globular stage. Mutation of OsMPK6 affect differentiation of L1 layer cells, significantly decreased expression of auxin and GA biosynthesis genes during early embryogenesis (Yi et al., 2016).
