Summation

ASB1, a key enzyme in Trp-dependent IAA biosynthesis, catalyses the first step of the Trp biosynthesis pathway in rice. Tryptophan deficient dwarf1 (tdd1) mutant (mutation in ASB1 gene) is embryonic lethal because of failure to develop most organs during embryogenesis.
