OSTF1, encodes a homeodomain protein, strongly and uniformly express in embryo at the globular stage and preferentially localize to the protoderm at 3?6 days after pollination (DAP) (Yang et al., 2002). At 3 DAP, OSTF1 switches from a ubiquitous pattern into a much more epidermis-specific expression in the early embryo. OSTF1 may function in a regulatory process involving organ or tissue determination during embryogenesis (Yang et al., 2002).
