In OsWOX4 knockdown plants, highly reduced expression of HISTONE H4 and CDKB2 transcripts is observed in leaf primordia showing OsWOX4 promotes cell proliferation through the regulation of cell cycle progression, leading to normal leaf development in rice (Yasui et al., 2018).
