Summation

Many transcription factors act as a modulator of plant response to abiotic stress. This is a small regulatory network of genes that are induced in response to drought. Zhang et al. 2012 (PMID: 22662107) have reported that the heat stress transcription factor A7 (HSFA7 or HSFA6B in UniProt), encoded by LOC_Os01g39020 / Os01g0571300 shows increased activity during drought and acts as a regulator of 35 genes (shown in the network). These genes were identified as direct targets of HSFA7 through gene network analysis and share the similar cis elements, ABRE, necessary for HSF binding as part of the ABA-dependent drought response pathway.
