CERK1 (Chitin elicitor receptor kinase1) is a positive regulator of defense by perceiving chitin elicitors. OsCERK1 is transported from the ER to the PM through a Sar1-dependent vesicle trafficking pathway (Chen et al., 2010a), where it activates the Rac1.
