DP1 promotes the expression of OsMADS15, REP1/SDP1, and OsMADS1 (Jin et al., 2011)

EMF2B is a C2H2 zinc finger protein, required to regulate expression of eight MADS-box genes (OsMADS1, OsMADS4, OsMADS6, OsMADS8, OsMADS16, OsMADS55, DL and OPB). In OsEMF2b mutant, expression of E-function genes OsMADS1 and OsMADS6 is significantly reduced, and the phenotypes observed are similar to loss of function of these two E-function genes. These observations suggest that Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2) plays a major role in floral meristem determinacy through modulation of the expression of E-function genes.
