Rice tapetal RAFTIN protein localizes in Ubisch bodies and silencing of Os RAFTIN1 blocks rice pollen development (Wang et al., 2003). Os RAFTIN1 is expressed mainly during the late stages of anther development and reduced expression was observed in the dpw mutant.
