TPR proteins are transcriptional corepressors, act as downstream regulators of strigolactones signaling, and play an important role in axillary meristem maintenance. They are involved in branch formation regulation, likely by suppressing primary branch formation and promoting secondary branch formation (Yoshida et al., 2012;  Jiang et al., 2013).
