Summation

Plastid fructose-bisphosphate aldolase atalyzes the reversible reaction of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to form dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. The rice protein annotated with plastid fructose-bisphosphate aldolase activity was identifed in a high-thoughput survey of rice leaf proteins but not characterized as to enzymatic activity or subcellular location (Nozu et al. 2006). These properties are inferred from the ones of its Arabidopsis thaliana orthologue (Ytterberg et al. 2006).
