Summation

The cytosolic pyrophosphate-dependent phosphofructokinase complex catalyzes the reversible reaction of D-fructose 1,6-bisphosphate and orthophosphate to form D-fructose-6-phosphate and pyrophosphate. The rice enzyme complex has not been characterized experimentally. Its composition and activity have been inferred from those of the more extensively studied orthologous Arabidopsis thaliana proteins (Mustroph et al. 2007).
