Cytosolic pyruvate kinase catalyzes the physiologically irreversible reaction of phosphoenolpyruvate and ADP to form pyruvate and ATP. The rice protein annotated here has not been studied experimentally - its properties are inferred from those of its Arabidopsis thaliana orthologue.
